Alfonso, Cavite — PAFCPIC conducted a donation activity for the families affected by the recent eruption of Taal volcano. Spearheaded by Ms. Alma C Ochoco, PAFCPIC’s Community Development Manager, the activity was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

As a cooperative, part of PAFCPIC’s mission is the upliftment of the well-being of its members and their families. Apart from this, PAFCPIC places great emphasis on community welfare.

350 relief packs were distributed to the evacuees being sheltered at Alfonso Central School in Alfonso, Cavite. The relief pack includes 1 sleeping mat, canned goods, water bottles and biscuits.

Despite being displaced from their homes in Batangas, the evacuees at Alfonso Central School remained hopeful. They were chanting “Bangon Batangas” while PAFCPIC was distributing relief goods.

Sobrang nagpapasalamat po kami sa tulong ninyo dahil kung wala ang mga ganito, wala kaming gamit dahil noong panahon na pinalikas ay wala talaga kaming nadala,” recounted Alice Roxas, 44 years old, an evacuee from Laurel, Batangas.

PAFCPIC employees together with the soldiers from the Civil Military Operations Regiment Philippine Army headed by CPT Mark Vincent Ching assisted in the transportation and distribution of the relief packs. PAFCPIC assured the affected families and the DSWD that, if called upon, PAFCPIC is open to extending further assistance to the community.

“These efforts are meant to aid and comfort the affected families. Kaya salamat rin sa DSWD sa pag-welcome, at sa ating mga kasundaluhan sa pagtulong sa amin,” explained Ms. Ochoco.
